There is a lot of room for improvement, though, as Baltimore rated 28th in the major leagues for run production and 27th for staff earned run average. Beyond that they have a restricted roster that needs to be upgraded.
All that being said, however, Showalter is proving that they were capable of a lot more than what they were producing and he’s at least gaining an honest effort from the squad, which wasn’t the case before his arrival.
