Leading NL Contenders Featured in Friday MLB Gambling
When the Philadelphia Phillies host the Cincinnati Reds, two of the leading squads in the National League encounter in MLB wagering on Friday. 
It is the 2nd competition of a four-game series. The Phillies will probably be modest faves in baseball wagering with Joe Blanton scheduled to get the start while the Reds counter with Johnny Cueto.

Blanton is 3-5 on the season with a 6.27 ERA. He has pitched better lately though. He is 1-0 with a 4.57 ERA in his last three starts. He has finished well in his career vs the Reds going 2-0 with a 3.92 ERA.
The Phillies had won 12 of the last 20 vs the Reds before yesterday’s competition. The squads competed in Cincinnati just over a week ago and the Reds took two of three and two of the matches went over the total in baseball wagering. Last year when they met in Philadelphia, the Phillies took three of four.
The Reds are winning with an offense that is fifth in the league in runs landed. Joey Votto is having an All-Star season and although he wasn’t on the All-Star team originally, he should make the team when all is said and done.
In terms of runs landed, the Phillies are only just behind the Reds at 8th in the league. Even though it hasn’t translated to any more victories, Philadelphia’s pitching has beena bit better than Cincinnati’s. The Phillies have been solid at home but not spectacular. It is their road history that has hurt them this season as they’re below .500 on the road. Typically the Phillies are a outstanding road team but so far this season that hasn’t been the situation and it’s one reason why they aren’t in first place.
